
The championships were organized by the World Taiji Science Federation (WTSF), officially sponsored by KungFuDirect.com, with Shaolin Warrior Academy as Platinum Sponsor and Bay View Golf Club as Gold Sponsor, and with the authorization and support of the USA Wushu-Kungfu Federation (USAWKF).
Competition categories included Contemporary Wushu, Traditional Wushu, Taijiquan, Health Qigong, and Group Events, providing an international platform for athletes of different ages, technical systems, and cultural backgrounds to compete and connect.
Distinguished Guests Gather for the Grand Opening Ceremony
On the morning of September 5, the WWOC Opening Ceremony was held in Hall A of the Santa Clara Convention Center.The Judges’ Procession, WWOC All-Around Champions Team, and participating teams entered the arena in succession, creating a ceremonial and energetic atmosphere.
Distinguished guests from the international Wushu community included Shudong Li, President of the World Taiji Science Federation and President of WWOC; Dajuan Gu, member of the International Wushu Federation Judges Committee, WWOC Chief Referee, and Vice President of the Canadian Wushu Association; Timothy Wakefield, Vice President of the Canadian Wushu Association; Mohammad Reza Nejad, member of the International Wushu Federation Technical Committee and one of the founders of the Iranian Wushu Federation; and Adrian Teyechea Garza, President of the Mexican Wushu Federation.
Other distinguished guests attending and supporting the event included Wenhui Wang, Cultural Counsellor of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in San Francisco; Xueming Su, Cultural Consul; Professor Myron S. Scholes, 1997 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences and Stanford University professor; Dr. Peter M. Wayne, Director of the Harvard Osher Center for Integrative Health; Dr. Gloria Yeh, Director of Clinical Research at the Harvard Osher Center for Integrative Health; a representative of the Mayor of Santa Clara; Wall Street fund manager Sujiang Zhang; Professor Xiaofeng Huang of Peking University HSBC Business School; and former California State Assemblymember Kansen Chu and his wife, among others.
